When your scalp feels tender or itchy, even washing and brushing can become uncomfortable. Think back to when it started and whether a product or routine changed around the same time.
Sensitivity is a symptom, not a diagnosis
Itching, burning or tenderness may accompany dandruff, irritation or an allergic reaction. Hair dye, fragrance and other product ingredients can be involved. Shampoo left on the scalp may also irritate it. Natural or herbal ingredients are not automatically safe for a sensitive scalp.

A few things worth noticing
You do not need to work out the cause yourself. These details simply give us a clearer place to start.
- New products
- Note recent colour services, shampoos, fragrances or leave-in products.
- The location
- Is discomfort limited to the scalp, or does it extend to nearby skin?
- The response
- Does washing or applying a particular product make it worse?
Between visits
Practical steps for your routine
- Stop a product that appears to trigger irritation and rinse it away. Do not introduce several new products at once.
- Keep a list of recent dyes, shampoos and leave-in products, and note when symptoms began.
- Avoid scratching, heat and intensive scalp treatments while the skin is actively irritated. Persistent symptoms need medical advice.
Care at Dr.Scalp
Finding the right care for you
Comfort comes first. Before care begins, tell us about any reactions, known allergies and steps that feel uncomfortable. We discuss your routine and look at the visible scalp; active irritation may mean postponing a service until you have medical advice.
A place for traditional herbal care
Scalp Repair Treatment is an option to discuss after suitability is considered. Herbal preparations are not automatically gentle for everyone: ingredients, temperature and your reaction history matter when selecting care.

Selected for your visit
Share any sensitivities and the products you currently use. We will talk through the preparations and care steps with you before starting.

Care options to explore
These are cosmetic scalp-care options, not a diagnosis or treatment for a medical condition. Suitability is discussed before care begins.
